Peer Review Process

Authors submit their manuscripts electronically via MESENCEPHALON. Each manuscript is reviewed by MESENCEPHALON staff for relevancy to the individual journal. Should a question arise, the editorial associate or the production editor will contact the editor in chief (or an appropriate editor), who then decides whether the manuscript should be transferred to another MESENCEPHALON journal, editorially rejected owing to scope, or retained for review by the journal to which it was submitted. If retained, the manuscript is assigned to an editor, who in turn chooses at least two external reviewers or peer review to review it.

Some MESENCEPHALON Journals have Editorial Boards whose role at the journal is to serve as external peer reviewers. MESENCEPHALON Editors may use two or more Editorial Board Members as external reviewers for a manuscript, or reach beyond this pool to include ad hoc external reviewers as needed. For MESENCEPHALON Journals without an Editorial Board, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two ad hoc external reviewers. MESENCEPHALON applies a single-blind review process where authors’ identities are known to reviewers.

When a manuscript is submitted to the journal, it is given a manuscript number (e.g.) and assigned to one of the editors. (Always refer to this number in communications with the editor.) From there it is assigned to at least two independent experts for peer review. All manuscripts are considered to be confidential and are reviewed by the editors, members of the editorial board, or qualified ad hoc reviewers.

It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to inform the coauthors of the manuscript's status throughout the submission, review, and publication processes. The reviewers operate under strict guidelines set forth in "Guidelines for Reviewers" and are expected to complete their reviews expeditiously.

For Mesencephalon reviewers: MESENCEPHALON policy allows authors who submit to Indonesian Journal of Health Care Managementto select open peer review. If the author opts for open peer review and the paper is accepted and published by OJS, then the review(s), decision letter(s), and author response(s) will also be published. As a reviewer, you may opt to disclose your identity and allow your name to appear in published materials. Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)

Authors are required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

Article Publication: 4.25 (IDR)

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.

History

Jurnal Kesehatan Mesencephalon before the issue of 2022 used Indonesian, but starting in 2022 Jurnal Kesehatan Mesencephalon used English, both the template and the rules.
